Certain salts are able to absorb sufficient water vapour from the air to dissolve to form an aqueous solution. This deliquescent behaviour is dependent on RH and is determined by the equilibrium relative humidity (RHeq): above this value for a given salt it will dissolve, while below it the salt will crystallise.
